KSO Celebrates Beethoven with a New YouTube Channel
December 17 it will be 250 years ago Ludwig van Beethoven was baptized. KSO is celebrating this momentous day by launching its new YouTubechannel, packed with highlights from the orchestra’s own Beethoven festival earlier this fall.
– We think it’s a great start for YouTubechannel to fill with highlights from what were some hectic and fantastic weeks for the orchestra,” says Director Geir Rebbestad, who hopes the YouTubechannel can help even more people discover the KSO.
Beethoven 250 was held atperforming arts centre Kilden performing arts centre the course of two and a half eventful weeks in November. Here, eight of Beethoven’s nine symphonies were performed, conducted by Nathalie Stutzmann. In addition, there were a number of chamber concerts and side events.
– And let’s not forget that we had to hold the festival with a very limited number of audience members in the hall. We hope this can serve as some consolation for those who wanted to attend but couldn’t get a seat. TThe concerts are mainly the ones performed at the festival this fall, says Rebbestad.
