KSO to Vennesla and Mandal
The Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra (KSO) is heading to Vennesla for the first time since Kilden established, as they will perform three “request” concerts over three days at three different venues in Agder this March.
“We’ve announced that we plan to increase our presence in the region, so it’s especially exciting to announce that, for the first time in many years, the orchestra will be performing in our neighboring municipality, Vennesla. We’re also, of course, delighted to be able to visit Mandal this year,” says Harald Furre, Executive Director of Kilden performing arts centre.
Feather in the cap
The concert will take place in the PM5 auditorium in Hunsfos Business Park on Thursday, March 18. Agnar Espegren of Hunsfos Business Park is delighted that the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra will be playing in Vennesla, and in the middle of what is a major part of modern Vennesla's identity, Hunsfos Fabrikker:
- "This is fantastic news for Vennesla and a real feather in our cap. It's great to be able to give this to the people of Vennesla, and we hope many will appreciate it. Just the thought of a full symphony orchestra playing a concert right here was completely unthinkable just a few years ago. Now it's a reality.
Three wish concerts
KSO will be visiting its neighboring village in the north as one of three wish concerts in collaboration with Fædrelandsvennen already in March. At these concerts, the audience can decide in advance what the orchestra will perform, and these have been very popular since the concert collaboration was established with Fædrelandsvennen at the turn of the millennium.
In addition to Vennesla, there will be concerts atperforming arts centre Kilden performing arts centre , March 17, and at Buen Kulturhus in Mandal on Friday, March 19.
