Welcome to an autumn packed with experiences—two unique package tours filled with art, music, and adventures in Kristiansand! Each of these art weekends includes a guided tour of Kunstsilo, recently named the world’s most beautiful museum, two performing arts experiences atperforming arts centre Kilden performing arts centre, delicious meals, comfortable accommodations, and more.
Enjoy a concert by the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra here at Kilden Thursday, and on Friday, start your day with a guided tour of Kunstsilo before having lunch at our own Restaurant Frihavn, and then round off the evening with a theater performance or concert here at Kilden.

Art Weekend, September 24–26
This September, we’re hosting both*Still Life – A Nordic Art Symphony Project* and *From Krakk to Kamp* here at Kilden, as well as three floors featuring the Tangen Collection at Kunstsilo.
You can also extend your art weekend with an extra night from Saturday, September 26, to Sunday, September 27.
Thursday, September 24add
- Starting at 3:00 p.m.: Check-in at the hotel.
- 5:30 p.m.: Dinner at Hotel Norge.
- 8:00 p.m.: At Kilden performing arts centre , youperforming arts centre experience the concert “Still Life – A Nordic Art Symphony Project” with the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra this evening. Kunstsilo and Kilden the fourth edition of the collaborative project “A Nordic Art Symphony Project.”
The concept combines music and visual art in a cross-disciplinary format. As in previous years, the concert explores new musical expressions and creates unique encounters between sound and image. This year, the artwork Six Bulbs by Bendik Riis takes center stage.
Friday, September 25add
- Starting at 6:30 a.m.: Breakfast at the hotel.
- 10:30 a.m.: This fall, much of the Kunstsilo building will feature exhibitions focusing on stories from the Tangen Collection. First, there is a roughly 30-minute introduction to the building’s architecture and history—explaining how an industrial building from the 1930s was transformed into an internationally recognized venue for art. We continue with a guided tour lasting about 50 minutes that explores selected works and artists within Nordic modernism from around 1900 to 1990. We’ll cover Cubism, Surrealism, and political art.
With your included two-day ticket, you can explore the building and the exhibits as much as you like over the weekend!

- 1:00 p.m.: A delicious lunch with coffee at the Panorama Bar, Kunstsilo.
- 5:00 p.m.: Two-course dinner at Restaurant Frihavn, Kilden.
- During dinner, there will be an introduction to tonight’s performance.
- 7:00 p.m.: Experience the theater performance at Kilden, From Krakk to Kamp. In the performance, we meet Nye Arendals Dramatiske Selskab, who will attempt to dramatize Norway’s greatest economic catastrophe of all time. It will be a magnificent performance about ambition, hardship, and hope—wrapped up in a funny and lighthearted satire about both the past and ourselves. Joining them on stage is the region’s own Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra
Saturday, September 26add
- Starting at 7:00 a.m.: Breakfast at the hotel.
- Starting at 11:00 a.m.: Kunstsilo is open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and with your two-day ticket, you can explore Kunstsilo again if you’d like.

In November, we have both a concert featuring Kilden and Kilden with Anne Lindmo here at Kilden, as well as the Leonard Rickard exhibition at Kunstsilo.
You can also extend your art weekend by staying an extra night from Saturday, November 7, to Sunday, November 8.

Kilden performing arts centre is Southern Norway’s largest cultural venue, housing theater, opera, a symphony orchestra, and concerts all under one roof. With its unique architecture and lakeside location in Kristiansand, Kilden is Kilden landmark for art and culture in the region.

Kunstsilo is a groundbreaking art museum in Kristiansand, housed in a converted grain silo by the harbor. The museum is home to the Sørlandet Art Museum and the Nordic region’s largest collection of modernist art, offering unique art and architectural experiences. In 2025, Kunstsilo was named the World’s Most Beautiful Museum at the Prix Versailles architecture competition.
