Premiere February 26 Now you have the opportunity to experience one of the true classics of theater history at Kilden. The Cherry Orchard was written by the Russian playwright Anton Chekhov in 1904, shortly before his death. The story is about a world where nothing is as it once was, and about how people cope with these changes.

Premiere May 5 Ludvig Holberg’s well-known and beloved folk comedy *Erasmus Montanus* is a cornerstone of Nordic theater. The story follows the student Rasmus Berg, who has overindulged in Latin and logical argumentation in the capital. And when he returns to his village, he is a changed man. Gone is the farmer’s son Rasmus Berg—now his name is Erasmus Montanus.

World Premiere May 28 Welcome to the world premiere of *Samhold søkes*. The show was originally scheduled to premiere in March 2020, just one week before Norway went into lockdown due to the pandemic. Now we’re trying again, with a show whose theme—in light of the pandemic—we may find particularly relatable. Samhold søkes is based on the contradictory desire for both freedom and community.

Christmas Eve 2021 marks the 150th anniversary of Vilhelm Krag’s birth. To commemorate this occasion,Kilden willKilden Southern Norway’s great poet with a variety of events. We will explore both Krag’s writings and songs and take a closer look at his life and work as a theater artist and poet.

Premiere September 17 Envy. Talent. Love. Betrayal. The dream of fame. Amadeus is the story of the final chapter of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s short life, as seen through the eyes of the composer and his rival, Antonio Salieri. In this production, Kilden brings together the Kilden company’s expertise on one stage—24 musicians, 9 actors, 8 singers, and 4 dancers.

Premiere: October 23 This family show is based on One Thousand and One Nights, a collection of fairy tales from India, Persia, and the Middle East dating back to the 9th century. Sheherazade is a dramatic tale of a young woman’s survival. Through her storytelling, she transforms a grim story into a fabulous and inspiring tale.

World Premiere: October 26 This performance is an exciting collaboration between two artists. Performing artist Maritea Dæhlin and visual artist Kaja Haven have both made a name for themselves as powerful, up-and-coming artists who are leading figures in their respective fields.

Premiere December 9 The dance performance HORDE features nine girls from Kristiansand, aged 15–18. Ingri Fiksdal and Solveig Styve Holte, two outstanding choreographers, will collaborate with the local performers to create this dance performance. HORDE will be performed at various venues in public spaces, ranging from the lobby of Kilden youth clubs and community centers.
