Lars Emil Nielsen tilbake i Kilden
Lars Emil Nielsen tilbake i Kilden
Actor Lars Emil Nielsen from Lillesand completed his contract at Kilden 2019. Now he is back on stage at Southern Norway’s premier theater, and in February he will star in one of the great classics.
“It’s absolutely wonderful to be back at Kilden . I really feel like that’s where I belong. There are so many great people there whom I love working with,” says Nielsen.
A classic
Since 2012, he has played a number of roles, both large and small, at Kilden. This year, he will first appear in one of the most famous plays in theater history, *The Cherry Orchard* by Anton Chekhov, before going on tour in the region with *Erasmus Montanus* by Ludvig Holberg. He is particularly looking forward to *The Cherry Orchard*, which premieres at Kilden February Kilden .
– This is going to be an incredibly wonderful production to be a part of. I play Yepikhodov, who is constantly plagued by misfortune, is therefore nicknamed “Thirteen Misfortunes,” and is in many ways a comic element in the play. The set design for The Cherry Orchard will be fantastic, and I envision this becoming a beautiful production well worth spending a few hours on, he says.
Play with theater
Audiences in Southern Norway will recognize Lars Emil Nielsen from a number of productions at Kilden. His personal highlight was what was actually supposed to be his farewell performance: Henrik Ibsen’s Complete Works in 78 Minutes.
– It was a playful take on theater, and a genre I really thrive in. And I got to do it with two colleagues, Steffen Mulder and Ann Ingrid Fuglestveit, who have also become my good friends.
Great atmosphere
Endre Sannes Hadland, acting artistic director at Kilden , is delighted to have the Lillesand native on the team again in 2021:
– “Lars Emil is a talented and versatile actor who always creates a wonderful atmosphere around him. I look forward to seeing him in his roles, both in *The Cherry Orchard* and in *Erasmus Montanus*,” says Sannes Hadland.
