Three additional performances of Sister Act have been added!

A scene from Sister Act

“This is fantastic news! We were really hoping that Sister Act would capture the interest of audiences in Southern Norway, and we hardly dared to hope that the response would be this enthusiastic,” says Daniel Stamnes, director of Kilden .

The world-famous musical comedy, which premieres on March 31, has enjoyed tremendous success on legendary Broadway and in the West End. Now it looks like that success is coming to Southern Norway in 2023. Just over a month after its launch, the show has sold more than 4,500 tickets. As a result, three additional performances have been scheduled for Saturdays, April 1, 15, and 22.

“Traditionally, Saturdays are supposed to be good days for foot traffic, so we’re confident these will be busy too, especially now that many people are wondering what to get their family and friends for Christmas,” says Stamnes.

In hiding in a monastery

The story of *Sister Act* takes place in San Francisco, where the main character must don a nun’s habit and hide in a convent from her ex-boyfriend, who is on the run for murder and searching for her.

In the lead role of Deloris Van Cartier, we find audience favorite Anna-Lisa Kumoji, known from the Eurovision Song Contest, Stjernekamp, and musicals such as “The Book of Mormon” and “Flashdance.” Joining her is none other than Mia Gundersen in the role of the Abbess. Mia has appeared in “Svindlere med stil,” “Sugar,” and “Evita” at Chateau Neuf. After 10 seasons as a judge on “Norske Talenter,” she was sorely missed on the theater stage—and now she’s finally back!

Familiar faces

Anna-Lisa and Mia lead a large ensemble that includes Ingeborg Walther (Stjernekamp, Maskorama, etc.), Kevin Mbugua (Stjernekamp), Hilde Lyrån, Thomas Stokke, Alexander Langset, Håvard Eikeseth, and several other familiar faces.

Mattias Carlsson of Starworks is directing.
