The play is part of a global cultural and educational program brought to Norway by Partnership for Change.

"Courage begins with one voice" are the first words of the production. The play conveys the voices of human rights activists from around the world and has touched audiences from stages around the world. Topics range from environmental issues, child soldiers and honor killings, to political rights, human trafficking and freedom of expression. Powerful stories from people who have made a difference, many at the risk of their own lives. The play is based on the book Speak Truth to Power, written by Kerry Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy's daughter.

In Courage Without Borders, the world out there comes very close. The world beyond the little Norwegian bubble. Beyond discussions about gas prices and Sunday open shops. Beyond frozen pizza and electricity bills. The play is about how individuals can make a difference. That it matters what each of us does, even here at home. What battles we choose to fight. What values we choose to fight for. Whether we choose to face the world and our fellow human beings with fear, indifference and suspicion. Or whether we choose to fight for warmth, humanity and inclusion.

Courage without borders is theater that is both important and touching. Both shocking and inspiring. Both engaging and thought-provoking. It is a play that strikes at the depths. And stays there.

The play was performed atperforming arts centre Kilden performing arts centre from November 9–12, 2016, featuring ten talented young people from UngdomsKilden on stage, original music by the duo Smerz, visuals by Sort Støi, choreography by Karen Høybakk Mikalsen, and directed by Elisabeth Lindland.
