Nyttårskonserten strømmes fredag kveld

““This is undoubtedly one of the best ways to start the year,” says Fædrelandsvennen’s reviewer of yesterday’s New Year’s Concert. On Friday evening, everyone in the region will have the opportunity to join the celebration.  

“Our goal is to reach as many people as possible in our region. And when the opportunity arose to stream the New Year’s Concert in collaboration with Fædrelandsvennen, it felt like the right thing to do again this year,” says Harald Furre, director ofperforming arts centre Kilden performing arts centre.  

Gershwin

The first performance of the New Year’s Concert took place at Kilden , Wednesday, to thunderous applause from the audience. The orchestra will travel to Arendal tonight and return to Kristiansand to perform tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

This year's edition is a tribute to George Gershwin and is led by Evelyn Jons and Eirik André Hvidsten. Case Scaglione is the conductor.

The audience in the hall 

Audience restrictions in recent years have meant that what is known as “the year’s first major highlight” in Kristiansand has previously been streamed. Even though audiences are once again free to enter the theater and concert hall, Furre believes it is important to make the experience available to even more people.  

“We’ve sold nearly 3,000 tickets for the 2023 New Year’s Concert, but we know that many people aren’t able to attend in person. This could be a great opportunity for those who, for various reasons, can’t be there to join in the celebration,” says Furre.
