Christina Jønsi
Christina Jønsi was born and raised in Skien. She completed her master’s degree in opera at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts in 2021 under the guidance of Solveig Kringlebotn. During the 2021/2022 season, she was a soloist trainee at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet. There, she performed the roles of Juno in Orpheus in the Underworld, Pastuchyňa in Janáček’s Jenufa, and Mercédès in Carmen. Since then, she has continued to perform at the opera house in Bjørvika as a second maiden in Elektra January 2023, and that same fall she played the role of Ursula in the critically acclaimed youth opera Ingenting. In February 2024, she made her debut at the Kristiansund Opera House in the role of the housekeeper Magdelonein Den Stundesløse by Edvard Fliflet Bræin. She has also done a small concert tour with Stefan Ibsen Zlatanos and Alexander Rybak. In January 2025, Christina will make her leading role debut as Hans in the revival of Alexander Mørk-Eidem’s Hans and Grete at the Norwegian Opera and Ballet.
