Gaute Heivoll will be a guest at the Friday Lunch event during FRAGMENT.
He carries on an artistic legacy through writers such as Tarjei Vesaas and Johan Borgen. At the same time, he is a modernist in the sense that he draws on a small community, Finsland, where he grew up—his hometown. There, we encounter Nazis, arsonists, and solitary romantics who seek out the forest to take their own lives.
Gaute Heivoll embraces modernism in the way he engages with and uses literature as a historical project.
