Brings together Nordic performing arts professionals at Kilden
Representatives from 30 theater institutions, festivals, cultural centers, and companies from across the Nordic region are currently gathered in Kristiansand. The goal is to promote the widespread distribution of Nordic performing arts.
“We will explore new ways to develop, produce, and distribute performing arts. Through collaboration, we aim to produce more sustainable art and boost employment by extending the lifespan of artistic works,” says the director of Kilden , which, together with Kilden , has organized this partner gathering.
The Yggdrasil network was established in 2020 and will hold its first in-person meeting from June 21–23 atperforming arts centre Kilden performing arts centre Kristiansand. The network currently consists of 30 members from across the Nordic region, including the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Iceland. The purpose of the network is to serve as a “research and development department” for Nordic performing arts.

“Many of the participants are visiting Kilden the first time, and we look forward to showing our building to colleagues from across the Nordic region,” says Stamnes.
The program for this first partner gathering includes several panel discussions and presentations on opportunities. Participants will also have the chance to experience performing arts from several countries. The Faroese production *Ò, Søgur um djevulskap* will be performed on Tuesday evening, followed by Kilden production of *The Cherry Orchard* by Anton Chekhov the next day. Both performances are open to the public.
