Current Covid rules mean that only 100 people can attend the actual concert on May 17. That's why Harald Furre Kilden, thinks it's even more gratifying that the festive concert will be broadcast live through Kilden's YouTube channel, and can thus be seen by residents throughout the region. The broadcast is part of the new initiative Kilden out in Agder.
Norwegian party music for a thousand homes
“We received so much positive feedback after we streamed the New Year’s concert online. For us, it’s important to be there for the entire region, and we hope the National Day concert can provide a particularly grand and festive setting for people in Agder on this special day,” says Furre.
The concert begins
at 2:00 p.m., and the program features Norwegian festive music by Johan Halvorsen, Edvard Grieg, Sigurd Lie, and others. Torodd Wigum will serve as conductor and host, and the soloist is the young, promising violinist Halvor Aasen. There will also be a youth segment in the day’s program, featuring Margrethe Homme and Iben Quist, who are both representatives of Kilden’s youth theater, UngdomsKilden.
