Slik blir Festaften 3. september

Collage of three images: Musicians in a symphony orchestra playing their instruments. To the right is a portrait of a man with dark skin, dressed in a dark gray jacket, white shirt and bow tie. On his head he has a black cap. He is smiling. The last image is an illustration of a red carpet.

“Right from the moment they arrive on the red carpet, the audience will sense that they’re part of something extraordinary,” says Sigrun Ebbesvik, event manager for Festaften, adding:

– The Kristiansand Jazz Collective will be ready on stage in the foyer with a chill jazz set, and everyone will be offered a welcome drink. The foyer will truly be decked out for a party, and there will also be previews from our upcoming grand opera Don Giovanni before the concert begins in Konsertsalen.

Restaurant Frihavn opens for table reservations from 5:30 pm, half an hour before the public enters, and has prepared a special three-course dinner for the occasion.

Grammy kiss

The double Grammy-winning American singer Gregory Porter will be a natural highlight of the program. With conductor Hans Ek on the podium, musicians Jørn Øien (piano), Edvard Askeland (bass), Elias Tafjord (percussion) and Kristiansand's own Rolf Kristensen (guitar), and with the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra behind them, there are great expectations for the concert.

After the concert, the party continues in the foyer. Ebbesvik elaborates:

More music

- The music experience continues with Kristiansand Jazz Collective, who have promised hip grooves, good vibes, great tunes and improvisation throughout the evening. So we hope to be able to make this a full evening in Kilden to celebrate 10 very exciting years.
