The Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Principal Conductor Julian Rachlin, invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of principal cellist.
The successful candidate will work closely with the other principal cellist. The two positions are of equal standing and share responsibility for the first and second chairs on an equal basis (50/50). The position also involves serving as section leader.
We are seeking an orchestra musician who is willing to invest in and actively contribute to the orchestra’s internal life and continued artistic development. The working language is Norwegian, and applicants are encouraged to be proficient in English and/or a Scandinavian language.

The hiring process includes an interview.
The audition process includes up to three weeks of auditions or a trial period with the orchestra, as well as a chamber music round, if applicable.
