Kilden & Competence Center
Horde was a performance that explored what it meant to be part of a group (horde), who had access to works of art, and how art could serve as an opportunity for social change and open the door to new communities. Issues related to gender and cultural background took center stage when the two renowned choreographers Ingri Fiksdal and Solveig Styve Holte created the performanceHORDEtogether with nine girls from Kristiansand aged 15–17. The dance project took place at Slettheia and Jens Bjørneboe Square on July 8 and 9, 2022.
As the title suggests, Fiksdal and Holte will explore the power of the crowd and the horde as a multifaceted phenomenon. HORDE is based on an everyday movement vocabulary that, through repetition, shifts in tempo, and changes in force and direction, creates dynamic patterns, rhythms, and movements. Joining them on the team are costume designers Elnaz and Mahtab Gargari. They are sisters and collaborators who have worked with artists such as Arif, Astrid S, Amanda Delara, and Linni.
HORDE premiered during the opening of the new Munch Museum in Bjørvika, featuring young people from Oslo. The production is now heading to Kristiansand, where the performers this time are young people from the city.
HORDE is a co-production between Kilden Teater, Kilden Dialog and Fiksdal/Holte. The production is supported by: Bufdir, Kulturrådet, Kulturtanken, FFUK, Oslo Kommune.
