Kilden & Competence Center
Saturday School is a talent development program aimed at children and young people aged 12–20 from across Agder. The goal is to provide students with challenges and opportunities for growth within a professional arts and culture environment, while also allowing them to get to know other young people who share their interests.
The students come mainly from cultural schools and study subjects such as rhythm, ensemble playing, and string ensemble. The curriculum includes ear training, music theory, ensemble playing, and chamber music. Activities take place primarily at Knuden, and instruction is led by faculty from the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, the University of Agder, and Knuden. Emphasis is placed on creating a positive and social environment for the students.
Saturday School is a collaborative project between Knuden, the Norwegian Council for Cultural Schools in Agder, the University of Agder’s Talent Development Program (TUP), and Kilden . Through this collaboration, students have access to a wide range of knowledge and can experience a learning environment that offers diverse perspectives and experiences.
