Mads Eilertsen

Mats Eilertsen is a Norwegian jazz musician (double bass) and jazz composer who studied at the jazz program at NTNU in Trondheim. Eilertsen is one of the foremost and most distinctive double bassists in Norway today, known for his warm and lyrical expression, and as a steady, open-minded, and exploratory performer and composer. Eilertsen plays in a number of bands and various ensembles in Norway and internationally, and has released many albums under his own name.

The album, *And Then Comes the Night*, was released on ECM in 2019 and won the Spellemann Prize that year.

Eilertsen has also appeared on dozens of albums with Tord Gustavsen, The Source, Arve Henriksen, Nils Økland, Jazzmob, Dingobats, and the Håkon Kornstad Trio.
