Apology — a requiem with Svein Tindberg and Kjetil Bjerkestrand
On a day in May 2024, composer and musician Kjetil Bjerkestrand (70) had an idea that wouldn’t let go:
The rest of humanity deserves an apology from my generation—from men over seventy.
An apology for our own inaction in the face of the climate crisis, injustice, hunger, and poverty.
For poor, downright immoral choices. For indifference.
For tolerating injustice so wholeheartedly, for over seven decades. Without taking action.
What kind of hope is there for men over 70? And for all the rest of us?
The performance, with text by Svein Tindberg, is a requiem—and it is called “Unnskyld” (Apology).
