Three masterpieces – one evening of magnificent sound.
We open with Grieg’s Triumphal March; a concentrated piece of festivity and energy from Sigurd Jorsalfar.
This is followed by the evening’s solo work, Geirr Tveitt’s Piano Concerto No. 5 with Håvard Gimse as soloist, performed in a revised version based on the composer’s own manuscripts and closely reflecting Tveitt’s distinctive sonic universe.
The evening concludes with Mozart’s Symphony No. 39—light, warm, and magnificent.
