When the kids take the stage!

Have you ever been home alone and baked a cake without a recipe? That’s exactly what it feels like when the National Theater invites young and old alike to the lively family show “Kakejazz.” Get ready for a cake party, chaos, and creative antics.

The Grytebust family is about to bake a cake, but then the phone rings! It’s from the jazz club Den blå mugge. A jazz band has canceled, and now they need Mom and Dad on stage right away. As soon as the door closes behind them, a wonderful new opportunity opens up. Now the kids can make exactly the cake they want, and mix in whatever they like! But what happens when they tip Grandpa’s urn into the batter?

“Kakejazz” is brimming with humor, rhythm, and ingenuity. Gunnar Eiriksson is a clever and playful director who knows exactly what it takes to get the kids to lean forward in their seats and the adults to laugh along.

And who knows, maybe you’ll get to taste the cake too!

Suitable for children ages 5 and up.
