ESPEN AND RUNE ARE GETTING MARRIED – A CELEBRATION AND A JOY

Espen Beranek Holm and Rune Andersen are the comedians behind Kilden’s summer hit Espen and Rune are getting ready. “It’s a blast and a joy to perform this show at Kilden,” they say.

“We’re having a blast every day, and if the audience has had even half as much fun as we have, then we’ve had twice as much fun as they have,” smile Espen and Rune backstage before yet another performance atperforming arts centre Kilden performing arts centre.

The premiere on May 23 (which received a 5-star review in *Fædrelandsvennen*) and the early run—which saw mostly sold-out shows—are now behind them, and the two comedians are looking forward to what lies ahead.

Greater peace of mind

“We feel much more confident in the material and in each other, and this gives the performance a good flow and inner rhythm. What never goes away, however, is the excitement before every single performance,” they say, elaborating:

– We stand backstage in the minutes before we go on, listening to the sound of the audience. It’s always exciting to hear how a hall buzzes with anticipation and a great atmosphere.

Café Theater

By early summer 2025, Kilden’s theater and opera hall will have been transformed into an intimate café-theater setting, with small tables and individual chairs instead of rows of seats in an amphitheater—a change the main characters themselves are very pleased with.

“It’s fantastic that Kilden created this, in true ‘Chat Noir’ style. It suits both the audience and the show very well,” they say.

– Don’t sit on the fence!

"Espen and Rune" has so far been performed for over 4,000 audience members, and ticket sales are strong all the way through to the final performance on June 28. But there are still tickets available. Here is a message from Espen and Rune to those who haven’t yet decided to attend:

To those sitting on the fence: No one should sit on the fence. For one thing, it might be freshly painted or rotten, and for another, it’s much better to sit in Kilden on a fence!
