KILDEN'S GREATEST CHRISTMAS TRADITION
In the Christmas Gospel, the Blue Cross is celebrated by Ole Paus, the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, and children’s and senior choirs.
The concert *The Christmas Gospel* has become an important tradition atperforming arts centre Kilden performing arts centre, but this is the first time Kilden the Blue Cross have collaborated on these two performances. Ronnie Jacobsen, project manager at the Blue Cross, says that the audience can look forward to an atmospheric evening focused on compassion and humanity.
– The Christmas Gospel will be read by members of the Blue Cross. People who understand the darker sides of life. Even though Christmas is a wonderful holiday, it is also a vulnerable and difficult time for many, and we must never forget that.
He believes the concert will serve as a reminder to look out for the people around us, and says it’s nice to be able to come together for something special, regardless of family ties or other relationships.
– Ole Paus has performed with the Blue Cross on several previous occasions. We’re confident that he’ll help make this an especially wonderful evening. At the same time, I hope the concert will shift the focus away from materialistic excess and instead remind us of what the true message of Christmas is all about.
It could just as easily have been me
Ole Paus is looking forward to the concert. He believes that the work done by the Blue Cross is crucial for many people, and that it is often a matter of chance who ends up needing the organization’s help.
“I think that if it weren’t for the fact that I can play the guitar, I could just as easily have been one of the users myself. It strikes people so randomly, which is why it feels so personal and meaningful to be a part of this,” says Paus, adding:
“It’s not a bad idea to look up for a moment and remind ourselves that Christmas is one of the few religious holidays we have. It concerns everyone, no matter what our circumstances in life may be,” says Paus.
Two concert evenings
