Get ready for the anniversary celebrations in January

performing arts centre Kilden performing arts centre its 10th anniversary in 2022 and kicks off the celebrations with three major “birthday parties” on three Saturdays in January. The American two-time Grammy-winning singer Gregory Porter is one of the artists coming to Kristiansand.

– I think it’s fantastic to bring such a major act to Kristiansand to mark Kilden tenth anniversary. “We have a lot of big things happening here in 2022, but we’ve decided to host these three major celebrations in January to kick things off, and we hope to celebrate our first ten years together with people from across the region,” says Harald Furre, director of Kilden performing arts centre.

Anniversary celebrations for everyone

The three anniversary celebrations will take place on January 15, 22, and 29. It all kicks off with “SuperMegaFest” for kids, featuring performances by Superbandet, Absence Crew, Baldrian, and Musa, guests from NRK Super, and surprises for both young and old.

“Block Party” is the night when Kilden alive with energy, sound, dance, art, music, and street food at an indoor street party headlined by the German viral sensation and techno band (!) MEUTE. The event will also feature a performance by the Danish powerhouse duo RKDIA and a variety of other acts.

On January 29, get ready for a festive evening with Gregory Porter and the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. The festivities begin as soon as the audience enters Kilden and continue long after the concert has ended.

Regional focus

Over the coming months, Kilden performing arts centre present a range of events—both large and small—for the people of Agder throughout its anniversary year in 2022. Among other things, the full program for Kilden will be announced on December 3. It includes a major initiative that will be of interest to a large portion of the county’s population:

“In recent years, we’ve been making a special effort to become more relevant to even more people in our county. I’m especially looking forward to sharing this performance with the people of Agder,” Furre says mysteriously.
