On Wednesday, the whole of Norway was moved when NRK1 aired the documentary about the SPOR performance at Kilden 2019. Tickets are now on sale for a brand-new SPOR performance, scheduled for March 2022.
Despite the challenges of 2021, the year has offered some major highlights for those involved in SPOR. First, they were invited to participate as one of the acts at the national commemoration of July 22 at Oslo Spektrum, and then NRK1 aired a short documentary about the performance in late September. Work is now underway on a new performance for 2022.
Three performances in 2022
“We’ve already been working on the new production for nine months, but of course we still have a lot of work ahead of us. As always, this will be both challenging and very rewarding, but we’re all looking forward to it,” says director and scriptwriter Elisabeth Lindland.
Performances are currently scheduled for March 4, 5, and 10, 2022, and in previous years, SPOR has been completely sold out. Lindland reports significant interest in next year’s tickets as well.
“As far as I know, the premiere is already sold out, and that’s absolutely amazing,” she says.
The most important cultural event of the year
SPOR is part of Kilden , Kilden’s nearly 10-year initiative focused on participatory art, inclusion, and diversity. The project has garnered widespread recognition in various professional circles and among audiences, andand has been called “the most important cultural event of the year in Kristiansand” by Fædrelandsvennen.
The performance uses art as a tool for mastery, understanding, and inclusion. Around 100 high school students, with and without disabilities, share the stage with the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. The performance is built around the participants’ stories, special skills, personalities, and functional abilities.
