The "Music Brings Life" project is celebrating its tenth anniversary, and this will be marked with a grand gala concert in Konsertsalen Kilden. Everyone is welcome!

Ten years ago, the organization Music Gives Life was founded. It all began with a meeting between five musicians from the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra (KSO) and children from the Music for Life/Immanuel Orchestra music school in one of Bangkok’s largest slums—through music lessons and a joint concert.

Since then, funds have been raised, instruments donated, and several educational trips organized. Today, the main focus is a music school in a mountain village in Madagascar. Here, 70–80 children and young people who previously lived on the streets receive free music lessons—as a means to provide a safer environment, support for their education, and a fresh start.

Music has a unique ability to move people, bring them together, and inspire change. Alongside the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra (KSO) and conductor Per Kristian Skalstad, you’ll hear vocal soloists Kristian Sødal, Samuel Balsnes, Embla Holberg, Hanna Balsnes, Hennie Elen Norbakken, and Hannah Linnea Eidem. Daniel Egede-Nissen Hernes is the evening’s young piano soloist, and the Kristiansand Opera Choir, Kilden Vokal, and the Kristiansand Chamber Choir will perform from the choir gallery. Eva Mari Andreasen offers insight into why music is so important to us, and actor Elias Moussaoui Anseth will guide us through the program as the host.

It promises to be an evening of powerful musical experiences—featuring young soloists, a large choir, and the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra.
All ticket proceeds will go directly to Musikk gir liv. All performers on stage are participating on a volunteer basis.

Welcome to a festive concert with a purpose—we hope to see you at Kilden.
