Parents of transgender youth in Sør and FRI Agder are pleased to invite you to a panel discussion at Restaurant Frihavn in Kilden.
What do we do when hate and harassment against LGBTQ+ people are on the rise?
How do we highlight the impact of hate speech on us and society without making things worse for those of us who are targeted by it?

Panelists:
Alexandra Joy Messel Øhrn-Fredwall is the former leader of Skeiv Ungdom Vest Agder and was recently elected as the new leader of Rød Ungdom.
Although she would much rather discuss politics, she has received a lot of attention for being a trans woman. She has reported more than 20 death threats since April, but refuses to let hate and harassment take root in her mind.
Christine Marie Jentoft is FRI’s advisor on gender and sexual diversity. For many years, she has been a strong and clear voice for the rights of transgender people. Christine uses both knowledge and humor when confronting prejudice.
Jørgine Orlin is an artist, influencer, and social commentator. Her writing serves as a counterbalance to hate and incitement on social media. She also amplifies other queer voices that deserve to be heard.
The event will be opened by Birgit Amalie Nilssen from the Arkivet Peace and Human Rights Center, and the discussion will be moderated by Kristin Evina Øhrn Fredwall from Parents of Trans Youth in the South.
Together, we hope to put into words what it’s like to be visible and trans at a time when hate and harassment seem to be becoming increasingly normalized.
But with hope for more love and understanding in the days ahead.
