Nathalie Stutzmann is back in Kristiansand and ready to open the season with KSO on Thursday, August 25. The chief conductor has wanted to create a concert filled with joy and positivity, and this will also be the first time she conducts Grieg with the orchestra.
- I have deliberately waited with Grieg. This is a composer I'm very fond of, and I love the music from Peer Gynt. I've been in Norway for several years now and have become even better acquainted with the country's nature and history. I think this will give me an advantage when we finally perform Grieg in Kristiansand," says Nathalie Stutzmann.
In addition to Grieg's music from Peer Gynt, the season-opening concert on Thursday consists of Mozart, Bizet and César Franck. Stutzmann has deliberately chosen a program characterized by joy and positivity.
- "I wanted to create an uplifting concert. We've all been through some dark and challenging years, so it felt extra important this time," she says.
The season opening with Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra takes place this coming Thursday, August 25. The concert starts at 19:30, and the Norwegian soprano Ann-Helen Moen concludes the Grieg program with "Solveig's Song".
