Camille Delaforge is a French conductor and harpsichordist specializing in Baroque music. She has been described as “dynamic and inspired” by Forum Opera.
During the 2025–26 season, Delaforge will lead a number of international projects, including a production of *Orphée et Eurydice* with Capella Cracoviensis and her North American debut with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra in a Baroque program featuring music by Lully, Rameau, Handel, and Bach. Together with her ensemble, Ensemble Il Caravaggio, she will appear at several leading European festivals and concert venues, including Musikfest Bremen, the Festival de Pâques in Aix-en-Provence, De Bijloke in Ghent, and the Stockholm Early Music Festival.
Highlights from recent seasons include Purcell’s *Dido and Aeneas* with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra at the Dutch National Opera, Bach’s *St. John Passion* with the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, and Rameau’s *Pygmalion* at the Opéra Royal de Versailles. As founder and artistic director of Ensemble Il Caravaggio, she conducted more than fifty performances last season at venues including the Opéra de Rennes, Opéra Angers Nantes, and La Seine Musicale. She was also resident conductor at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in the summer of 2024 alongside Emmanuelle Haïm.
Before devoting herself fully to her career as a conductor, Delaforge collaborated as a harpsichordist with ensembles such as Le Poème Harmonique, Le Concert de la Loge, and Orfeo 55, and performed at venues such as Wigmore Hall in London and the Salzburg Festival. She has a particular passion for vocal music and has worked closely with singers at several of Europe’s leading festivals.
Delaforge is also passionate about the social and educational power of music. Among other things, she has taught children in Ecuador and leads cultural outreach projects for schools and vulnerable groups through Ensemble Il Caravaggio.
She has recorded for Warner, Alpha, Klarthe, and Château de Versailles Spectacles.
