Welcome to a lively performance that blends humor and seriousness, evoking the spirit of the old sailing ship era with a touch of Southern Norwegian wit. As always, we’ll be sharing tales from Gabriel Scott’s book *Pider Ro*, interspersed with maritime songs along the way.
For those who have attended *Pider Ro* performances before, there will be both new and familiar stories and songs.
Cast:
Actor Lars Emil Nielsen
Lars Emil is an experienced, versatile, and sought-after actor from Lillesand. Many also know him from the summer revue På nyklipte stier in Lillesand. In the spring of 2026, he will appear in Kilden’s production Kilden show. Lars Emil is without a doubt Southern Norway’s foremost and most experienced interpreter of the character “Pider Ro.”
Musician Svein-Helge Vikse
Svein-Helge is an experienced and versatile musician, often performing in a duo with acoustic guitar. He works part-time as a guitar teacher and part-time as a freelance musician. In the summer, he is very active as a cruise musician in the harbor, and otherwise he regularly performs with talented vocalists at cultural events throughout the region.
Lars Emil and Svein-Helge became known when they collaborated in 2020 on Kilden’s production *To i båden – Sørlandsvisa 100 år*. Since then, they have traveled around Southern Norway with Pider Ro performances in cultural centers, at their own events, as cultural interludes, and with regular performances for SeniorKilden.
As last year, they are also joined by a special guest. This time, Kjell Åge Stoveland from the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra will be performing on the viola.
Kjell Åge Stoveland is from Mandal and has been a violist with the KSO since 2002. He studied at the University of Agder and the Norwegian Academy of Music, and has extensive experience as an orchestral and chamber musician. He has also participated in a number of recordings, both as a soloist and in ensembles.
