The concert program links the voice of Lisa Cristiani, an inspiring female figure in the history of the cello, with the music of four female composers spanning time and tradition: Fanny Mendelssohn, Nadia Boulanger, Henriëtte Bosmans, and Tímea Dragony.
Through music composed for cello and piano, a landscape of lyrical depth, tonal refinement, and personal strength is explored. Mendelssohn’s romantic melodiousness meets Boulanger’s clear lines and subtle harmonies, while Bosmans’ expressive modernism adds drama. Dragony’s music reflects contemporary sensibilities, where tradition and innovation merge into a vital musical language.
Together, the works form a dialogue about artistic identity, resilience, and creative freedom, conveyed through an intimate and powerful collaboration.
