Unikor from Oslo and the Kristiansand Opera Choir invite you to a free lobby concert at Kilden

This concert program explores the complexities of love. The most intense emotions are tied to what never came to be—or to loss—as represented by the folk songs “
” “Ant han dansa med mej,” “Jeg lagde meg så sildig,” and “Den dag kjem aldri.”

And once we have love, it is threatened by jealousy, the fear of being abandoned, or the desire for something else, as in *
*’s “Tjuv skal du heta,” “Kärleksvals,” and “Astri mi Astri.”

Even the love we feel is full of contradictions, rarely expressed as beautifully as in Henry Purcell’s *
* “If love’s a sweet passion,” and sometimes one finds one’s soulmate, as in Randall-Stroope’s *
* “Amor di mi alma.”

Gabriel Fauré’s “Madrigal” is a dialogue between women and men who initially accuse each other of not understanding, but who ultimately find a kind of harmony.

The program includes both a cappella choral pieces and choral pieces with piano accompaniment.
