In 2025, KSO violinist Sigmund Eikeset was awarded the Crescendo Grant for the project “60 Minutes with Stig Nordhagen,” a celebration of the 60th birthday of KSO’s principal clarinetist and composer Stig Nordhagen.
The concert features chamber music composed by Nordhagen over the past three years, performed by some of the region’s leading musicians. The program includes both earlier works and a brand-new commissioned piece that will receive its world premiere this evening.
Throughout the evening, the audience is invited into the composer’s musical universe through conversations with Stig Nordhagen, who shares his thoughts on the works, the creative process, and life as both a performer and a composer.

About the Crescendo Scholarship
The Crescendo Scholarship was established in the spring of 2024. The scholarship is intended to motivate and support musicians in the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra who wish to carry out projects outside the orchestra’s regular program activities.
The concert is organized by Kristiansand Cathedral with support from Crescendo and nyMusikk Kristiansand.
