In the fall of 2026, Janove will perform a few exclusive concerts with a string quartet. The tour will visit eight of the country’s largest concert halls in November and December, where he will present his songs in a symphonic format for the first time. In each city, he will be joined by a local string quartet.

The project stems from an idea that has developed over several years and is now being realized on a full scale. The arrangements are written by Erlend Skomsvoll, Gisle Kverndokk, Erik Waldejer, and Heine Røise, all of whom are established and renowned figures with impressive credentials. Together, the various arrangers create variety and breadth, adding new nuances to the music.

The repertoire is drawn from Janove’s entire catalog, and the selection has been made with the new format in mind, featuring both well-known favorites, never-before-performed songs, and brand-new material.

– I’m really looking forward to this! I’ve gone through my entire catalog, the material from the symphonic and silent-theatrical piece, *The Mute*, and the *Kaizer* catalog to find the most interesting and exciting songs to perform in a symphonic setting, says Janove Ottesen.

– It’s always magical when the songs are enhanced with strings, and many of my favorite songs often become even more dramatic when they lean further into a cinematic and theatrical expression. It’s been incredibly fun to receive the arrangements, and now I’m looking forward to performing them together with the string quartets.

In connection with the tour, a new single, “Min Melodi Blå,” will be released, along with a double album digitally and on vinyl: Janove – “The Collection,” consisting of a collection of favorite songs in band format on one record and piano recordings on the other. Each record also includes one unreleased bonus track: “En Mester Og Hans Karakter” and “En Drøm.”

Also joining the tour as a Special Guest is the artist OLIVER, with his self-composed, cinematic piano music.
