The Intrinsic Value of Art – An Appeal by Fredrik Høstaker
During Culture Day at Arendalsuka, Kilden actor Fredrik Høstaker delivered a personal appeal centered on the intrinsic value of art. We would like to share this with a wider audience.
Audition for the play SMALL TALK
Kilden is looking for a man between the ages of 50 and 70 who would like to participate in the play *Small Talk – Ring in Christmas with the Dvergsnes Family*. No acting experience is necessary—just time, enthusiasm, and a willingness to get involved.
Classical music as a source of relaxation
Since 2018, Fanni Sara Istenes has been a devoted follower of the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. For her, the Thursday concerts have become an indispensable fixture—a space for tranquility, inspiration, and profound experiences.

Art against Artillery: Voices of Resilience by Olha Volynska explores the transformative power of art in times of war. Powerful stories highlight the resilience of artists who continue to create, perform, and inspire despite the ongoing conflict. The book was made possible in collaboration with NTO and Kilden.
SUMMER SHOW – A celebration and a joy
Rune Andersen and Espen Beranek Holm are currently in the midst of their summer show at Kilden. The energy is through the roof when these two seasoned comedians take the stage and deliver night after night.
Kilden Vokal kicks off on June 16!
Starting in the fall of 2025, Agder Youth Choir, in collaboration with Vågsbygd High School, will become an integral part of the choral program at Kilden performing arts centre. The new choir will be called Kilden Vokal, and its kickoff is on June 16!

KSO at the Musikverein in Vienna
The Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra (KSO) is one of the few orchestras confirmed for the highly acclaimed Herbstgold Festival in Austria this September. It has now also been announced that the orchestra will give a concert at the Musikverein in Vienna during the same tour.
AFTERNOON TEA
Enjoy three floors of delightful culinary experiences and a nice drink! Afternoon tea is served at Restaurant Frihavn on Saturdays and Sundays through the first weekend in May.

A WEATHER STORM OFF THE COAST OF TVEDESTRAND LED TO THE FLYING DUTCHMAN
The famous German composer Richard Wagner experienced a highly dramatic incident at sea, which forced him to seek refuge on Borøya in Tvedestrand. The whole episode resulted in the world-famous opera *The Flying Dutchman*.
From an innocent sailor to a calculating and vengeful count
Soon, Kilden will host one of the most exciting stories of our time: Alexandre Dumas’ *The Count of Monte Cristo*. The story is filled with betrayal, revenge, and forgiveness, but the author’s own life was also full of drama and intrigue.
The Theater Card: Tripled in Three Years
The response to the 2025 Theater Card has exceeded all expectations! 1,000 people have secured next year’s card, meaning that demand has tripled in three years. Due to space constraints in our smaller auditoriums, we are now forced to stop sales.
